More than 3000 medical and IT professionals and members of European state and regional administrations, attended the opening of this year’s eHealth week in Dublin on May 13.
The major topic of the three day global conference on e-Health is the application of the advanced information and communication technologies in the healthcare segment. The innovative healthcare and contribution to welfare has been especially highlighted. One of the important parts of the conference is the e-health solutions fair, where among 120 companies-exhibitors there is the Croatian exhibition area titled eHealth Croatia. The appearance encompasses seven companies engaged in the health care informatization process in the Republic of Croatia.
Besides Ericsson Nikola Tesla, the company that built the core of the system, there are the representatives of companies engaged with various applications for the primary healthcare, medical specialist services, pharmacies, etc.  The backbone of the solution presented at the exhibition is precisely the data communication that is, through the central system  enabled by applications  supplied by several companies, such as IN-CON, Infomedica, Information Systems, MCS-a, SD Informatika and Vegasoft.

Among others, the exhibition stand was visited by Dr. Siniša Varga, the director of the Croatian Health Insurance Fund and Tatjana Prenđa Trupec, assistant director of the same Fund, who is also a member of a WHO ad hoc work group for the development of the European strategy for information security in healthcare. The importance of Croatian achievements in the e-Health segment has been proved by the fact that Dr. Varga was invited to deliver a speech at mHealth-Symposium, as one among three selected participants. He was also invited to participate in the panel discussion on the topic of a healthcare in future. Moreover, during the Industry Programme Session Ericsson Nikola Tesla is presenting its vision of the networked healthcare, as well as the solution for the remote patient medical monitoring.
