Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Davor Ivo Stier Visits Ericsson Studio

During his official visit to Sweden, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Croatia and Sweden, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Davor Ivo Stier visited Ericsson Headquarters. He expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation between Ericsson and Ericsson Nikola Tesla, intensive strengthening of research and development activities in Croatia, and the quality of Ericsson Nikola Tesla solutions for industry and society, which have been implemented until now, as well as announcing further cooperation development.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Davor Ivo Stier Visits Ericsson Studio Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Davor Ivo Stier met with numerous Swedish officials. With Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom, apart from discussing the strengthening of bilateral relations, Minister Stier discussed the topics related to the European Union, the situation in Southeast Europe, as well as strengthening the stability in this region.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Davor Ivo Stier Visits Ericsson Studio After expressing his satisfaction with the economic cooperation, Minister Stier mentioned the cooperation between Ericsson and Ericsson Nikola Tesla as an encouraging example, which he confirmed by visiting Ericsson Studio. The Croatian delegation was joined by Anica Đamić, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia in Sweden, and Lars Schmidt, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Croatia.

Innovative technology solutions were presented by Ulf Pehrsson, Ericsson Vice President, Government & Industry Relations, Mats Guldbrand, Networked Society Evangelist, and Gordana Kovačević, President of Ericsson Nikola Tesla.

Minister Stier highlighted: "It is important to us that a research and development centre with a global dimension is developing in Croatia. Successful companies that Sweden and Croatia are developing together can serve as a model." He gave a very positive evaluation of Ericsson Nikola Tesla’s industry & society solutions so far, such as the Joint Information System of Land Registry and Cadaster (JIS) and e-Health, especially in the context of numerous benefits which these solutions have brought to the citizens.

This was an opportunity to present in the Ericsson Studio a part of the ideas which show best how Networked Society strategy transforms into reality. This visit will strengthen our position so that throughout new projects, we continue this important, joint task.”
