President of the Republic of Croatia Visits Ericsson Corporation Headquarters

During her official visit to the Kingdom of Sweden, the president of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović visited Ericsson Corporation. Accompanied by high-level officials, she got acquainted with the latest technological developments presented in Ericsson Studio. Advocating a stronger economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in ICT industry, she commended the partnership between the Ericsson Corporation and Ericsson Nikola Tesla as a high-quality model of cooperation. She also highlighted the important role that high-value ICT business activities play in demographic context, while stating that the Swedish model of keeping the youth in the country could also be applied to Croatia.

What the fifth technological revolution brings, what the benefits of connecting are, and the way in which Ericsson as a technological leader enables digital transformation, were all topics of the program presented in Ericsson Studio by Ulf Ewaldsson, Head of Group Function Strategy and Technology. In this regard, an important contribution to the implementation of the Networked Society agenda is made namely by Croatian experts, especially within the framework of research and development and other expert activities. Within the corporation, Ericsson Nikola Tesla is particularly recognized due to its successful development and implementation of ICT solutions for the Industry & Society segment. “Due to their innovativeness and high competences, we are proud that the Croatian team is a part of the global Ericsson community,” said Ewaldsson.
 
Impressed by technological innovations, president Grabar-Kitarović expressed her satisfaction with the fact that Ericsson Nikola Tesla experts equally participate in their creation. She actively advocates Croatia’s stronger presence in global ICT trends and the continuation of informatization process at national level: “Research and development activities, carried out through high-quality R&D centers, play a crucial role in this, which needs to be fully supported by the state,” said the President.
 
Gordana Kovačević, president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, also suggested that Croatia strategically positions itself towards technological industries:
“We are thankful to president Grabar-Kitarović that, after her recent visit to our company in Zagreb, she visited Ericsson headquarters in Stockholm and, in such way, acknowledged and supported this long-time partnership. We share the opinion that Croatia’s high-quality future can be achieved through its fundamental shift towards STEM areas, and this is something that our company well presents on its own example through its long-term stable and successful business.”
