#BeActive day at our company – a workout at work

  Categories: Events

For the fourth year in a row, the Central State Office for Sport has organized the European Week of Sport which is being held across Croatia 22-30 September 2018, with the motto #BeActive. This significant international initiative was launched by the European Commission with the aim of promoting sport and physical activity among European citizens. Our company always readily participates in the activities through which it can promote healthy habits, such as working out, and encourage its employees to take care of their health. This was recognized by the organizers of the European Week of Sport, who invited us to be a part of this significant project, and we enthusiastically accepted the invitation.

The focus day Workplace was held on Thursday, 27 September 2018, and since we spend a lot of time at work, its aim was to promote the effect the sport and physical activity have on health, social inclusion and diversity of each individual.

To raise awareness among our employees of the risks of sedentary lifestyle and work, coaches from the Coach4you company visited us, and in cooperation with the Central State Office for Sport organized a workout conceived as lifelong motor learning. Our employees accepted the challenge from professional tennis player Marin Čilić in a video message on the company’s Intranet, inviting them to come, participate and take care of their hardware. Some of them showed that they have an impressive level of physical fitness. The interesting workout session lasted one hour, and the big conference room where it was held was barely large enough for the gathered employees. The program was prepared and carried out in a professional manner, and the participants were satisfied.

This activity is an excellent introduction into the Diversity month which is celebrated on a global level in Ericsson during October, since sport connects us all when it comes to taking care of our health.
