The best in responsible workplace policies and practices

  Categories: Recognitions

The eleventh CSR Index award ceremony was held at the 10th Conference on corporate social responsibility, which was organized by the Croatian Chamber of Economy and Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development (HR PSOR) at the Esplanade hotel in Zagreb. The competition is carried out by a methodology which enables the companies to objectively evaluate their socially responsible practices and compare them with other companies’ practices. This year, Ericsson Nikola Tesla won the award in the area: Responsible workplace policies and practices.

On the occasion of the anniversary edition of the conference and the competition itself, special recognitions were awarded to companies – including our company – which stood out over the last ten years by their continuity and perseverance in the completion of questionnaires.

Gordana Kovačević, president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, received both the recognitions on behalf of the company, and the awards were presented by Tomislav Ćorić, Minister of Environment and Energy.  In her acceptance speeches, the president highlighted that she is delighted that our practice was recognized in the surroundings and that we would continue to seek areas for improvement.

President of the company opened the round table “Adequacy of implementation of Sustainable Development Goals into business strategies” referring to the involvement of CSR in the company's business strategy as well as specific activities related to Ericsson Nikola Tesla’s contribution to sustainable development goals.

“Over nearly seventy years of the company doing business, a lot of steps were made to reach this level of development, and our journey will continue. Experiences show us that the integration of sustainable development goals into the business strategy is the only real way, and its implementation opens up new business opportunities, higher efficiency, reduces risks, strengthens brand value and market position, empowers the company as an employer of choice and encourages long-term competitiveness and sustainability. I hope that our example, as well as examples of others, can serve to raise awareness of the economic, environmental and social dimension of everyone’s business.

Just as previous years, domestic and international experts participated in the conference. Snježana Bahtijari, Director Marketing Communications & CSR, together with long-term participants of CSR Index, took part in a round-table discussion “The role of corporate social responsibility in the shaping of added value for companies, society and the environment – benefits and challenges”. She noted that the company contributed to the development of CSR Index methodology as well as pioneered the promotion of good practices.
