A1 Hrvatska and Ericsson Nikola Tesla continue to cooperate in the radio network segment

A1 Hrvatska continues a successful cooperation with the long-term partner Ericsson Nikola Tesla by signing an exclusive agreement on further development of radio access network of A1 Hrvatska. The frame agreement covers the modernization and expansion of the network till the end of 2023 based on the latest technological solutions from Ericsson Radio System (ERS) portfolio.

This collaboration will enable for the users of A1 Hrvatska in all parts of Croatia to have an excellent user experience of services which are getting more and more data demanding. Based on ERS portfolio, this Croatian operator will have at its disposal a flexible 5G-ready solution.
In 2018 and 2019, within a frame 5G partner program, A1 Hrvatska presented 5G functionalities in live network by using Ericsson 5G technology in radio and core.

Jiří Dvorjančanský, president of the Management Board of A1 Hrvatska, stressed the importance of the strategic partnership: “Collaboration with Ericsson Nikola Tesla enables us to continue with our mission, which is to build a smart digital society in Croatia. For 20 years, we have together built a modern infrastructure which makes everyday life of the citizens easier and brings equal opportunities for communication and connection just as in technologically most advanced countries. Recently, the P3 independent international research named A1 network the best, which has confirmed the quality of infrastructure as well. With the same enthusiasm we continue building 5th generation networks and are extremely proud to build communication technology of the future together with Croatian experts.”

Gordana Kovačević, president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, expressed her satisfaction with the continuation of cooperation with A1 Hrvatska: “We have been cooperating with our strategic partner from the very beginning of its operations 20 years ago. Throughout this entire period, we have been working together on innovative solutions and secured network infrastructure that has enabled to offer state-of-the-art services to the operator’s users, which was also recognized through many recognitions. In a year in which both companies mark their important anniversaries, this agreement is a strong encouragement to continue realizing business successes to the satisfaction of end users. Ericsson Nikola Tesla’s Research and Development Center is actively involved in the development of the 5th generation of mobile networks and we are particularly pleased with the fact that A1 Hrvatska, in partnership with our company, continues to create new values and provide top communication services to users in Croatia.”

Tomislav Makar, Senior Technology Director for A1 Hrvatska, confirmed that the company is ready for a new technological era: “We lead the implementation of new broadband technologies, which we presented earlier this year with the first demonstration of 5G technology and having introduced gigabit speeds in our mobile network. In collaboration with Ericsson Nikola Tesla we wish to transform state-of-the-art technology into quality and user satisfaction, with the aim of implementing a strategy of gigabit broadband on a national level. Gigabit technologies will open the door to the fourth industrial revolution, enable the development of smart cities and a breakthrough in innovations in all industries, increasing thereby Croatia’s competitiveness across Europe and worldwide.
