  Categories: Events

Ericsson Nikola Tesla, the largest Croatian exporter of knowledge and one of the leading ICT companies in the region, celebrated 70 years of successful business. The unforgettable event in Arena Zagreb was attended by over 4000 guests, famous people from public life and scientific community, customers, business partners, employees and retired employees.

The audience was addressed, in chronological order, by Gordana Kovačević, president of the company; Franck Bouétard, representative of Ericsson corporation and chairman of Ericsson Nikola Tesla’s Supervisory Board; Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Darko Horvat as the envoy of Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, and the country’s President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.

Milestone birthdays are usually marked by thoughts on the most important moments from the past and an indispensable look into the future. This is was, therefore, the theme of the multimedia musical and theatrical performance which has shown how and why this company overcame the pitfalls of corporatization and privatization, the shift in technologies, markets and sociopolitical systems.

The theory on the so-called Croatian dream coming true was clarified by Ms Kovačević, who pointed to an almost Darwinian model of survival of the fittest in the business world, where the speed of learning and adapting to constant change represent the key difference between those who disappear and those who both lead and improve the world in which we live.

President of the Republic of Croatia congratulated Ericsson Nikola Tesla’s employees and the management on this important jubilee. The President stressed that the company, which has contributed to the development of Croatian economy and society for over 70 years and improved our country’s reputation worldwide, has proven that a better future can be created in Croatia as well.

Mr Bouétard stressed the long-term partnership with Ericsson corporation, which has recognized the continuously good results the Croatian company achieved, based on strong leadership and competent and motivated employees – who are today important members of numerous global teams, including those who work on the development and implementation of the cutting-edge 5G technology.

Minister Horvat drew attention to the efforts put in by the Government of the Republic of Croatia in improving the position of the companies working on research and development.

Finally, over the 70 years of successful business, the company has proven that knowledge, effort, innovativeness and social responsibility as a vital factor in business, are worthwhile.
