Ericsson Nikola Tesla will deliver microwave transport technology to Hrvatski Telekom

  Categories: Agreements Investors

Ericsson Nikola Tesla and Hrvatski Telekom signed a contract regarding the delivery of microwave transport technology that includes hardware, software and maintenance. This contract makes Ericsson Nikola Tesla in this segment an exclusive supplier to Hrvatski Telekom until the end of 2024.

The signing of this contract is a continuation of Hrvatski Telekom's network modernization. After the recent start of 5G commercial operation in numerous cities in Croatia, this is a key step to introduce this technology also in rural areas and hardly accessible areas in the Republic of Croatia, including the islands.

“This Agreement is the latest confirmation of our 5G investment plan. The development of the 5G network, in addition to investments in the radio network, meaning base stations, requires investments in new technologies also for the remaining part of the mobile network. With this Agreement, we get the opportunity to implement the most modern microwave devices in our transport network that will provide greater capacity and better mobile services in hard-to-reach areas such as islands and rural areas”, stated Boris Drilo, CTIO, Hrvatski Telekom.

Gordana Kovačević, president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, pointed out: “I am very pleased with the continuation of our successful cooperation with Hrvatski Telekom, which is based on excellent teamwork both with our customer and internally among our teams. The fact that we have been selected as the exclusive supplier in this area as well is an additional confirmation of Ericsson’s strong 5G portfolio and the competences our experts acquired while working on global 5G projects.”
