Traditionally, this summer as well, graduate students from numerous faculties from Croatia and abroad participated in Ericsson Nikola Tesla’s Summer Camp in Zagreb and Split. The closing of Summer Camp was held on September 28, 2018 at company premises. The event was marked with day-long activities, including poster and demo sessions, and the official closing ceremony.

Today Ericsson Nikola Tesla opened new premises of the company’s Research and Development Center in Osijek, and thus, the company’s business research and development activities located in Zagreb and Split expanded also to Slavonija. The opening event gathered Andrej Plenković, Croatian Prime Minister, Darko Horvat, Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Tomislav Ćorić, Phd, Minister of Environment and Energy, Gabrijela Žalac, Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds, Prof. Blaženka Divjak, PhD, Minister of Science and Education, Oleg Butković, Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, and Vlado Guberac, Rector of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek.

As the commercial launch of 5G services rapidly approaches, Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and Intel, together with AT&T and T-Mobile are showcasing the power of the 5G ecosystem. The partners have successfully demonstrated Non-Standalone (NSA) 5G New Radio (NR) interoperability using 39 GHz spectrum – the frequency band that 5G services in North America will be introduced on.

Business results of Ericsson Nikola Tesla Group in H1 2018

Gordana Kovačević, the President of Ericsson Nikola Tesla comments: “In H1 2018, Ericsson Nikola Tesla Group sales revenue amounted to MHRK 762.4, up by 7.5% year-over-year, mainly driven by higher sales revenue in the domestic market. In line with expectations, services to Ericsson record a growth, primarily due to new responsibilities in R&D as well as in the Services and Solutions Expert Centers. We have continued to invest in preparation for introducing 5G mobile communication systems, in competence development, and in testing systems. During H1, we hired 142 new experts, primarily in R&D in the field of 5G, and thus at the end of H1 Ericsson Nikola Tesla Group had 3,113 employees.
