Ericsson Nikola Tesla at MWC 2015

At Mobile World Congress, the most significant global telecommunication event, held in Barcelona, March 2-5, Ericsson presented a number of solutions, whether they regard hardware, software of services. The solutions and platforms from numerous areas were presented; the fifth generation of mobile networks (5G) and LTE technology, managed services, OSS/BSS, TV and media, as well as the Cloud and IP. Based on its solutions, Ericsson creates a foundation for new ecosystems and business growth. The Networked Society changes entire industries and ICT tools became essential resources to daily business performance and citizens' everyday life, and the services provided by municipal services.

 

Ericsson Nikola Tesla delegation, led by Ericsson Nikola Tesla President, Gordana Kovačević, MSc, as a part of Ericsson team at the exhibition stand, introduced Ericsson Nikola Tesla customers and partners to the presented novelties. With the delegation of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure, led by Minister Siniša Hajdaš Dončić, Ericsson exhibition stand was visited by the President of Council of Croatian Regulatory Agency for Network Industries, Dražen Lučić, as well as numerous customers from Croatia and the region; among other visitors, there were the leaders of Hrvatski Telekom, Vipnet, BH Telekom, Crnogorski Telekom and Telekom Austria.  

Ericsson Nikola Tesla experts have, this year as well, made a significant contribution to the Ericsson exhibited solutions. Among other solutions, we would like to highlight a web application, BSP Cabinet Viewer, and the project Google Glass Shopping. BSP Cabinet Viewer, through an attractive interactive graphic user interface, enables a fast and an efficient management and the overview of the Blade Server platform current state. This Ericsson platform is a part of the Ericsson Mobile Softswitch Solution, and is ready for the future user needs. With an extreme network simplification, it ensures a high capacity, scalability and availability of the system, and offers the answer to the increase of traffic.  It enables lower operating costs per user and opens a path towards business efficient network solutions. BSP Cabinet Viewer was shown within the presentation of this platform, as a tool by which the customers were shown advanced functionalities of Blade Server platform in a visual, modern and an impressive way.

The innovation success of Ericsson Nikola Tesla experts in the area of m-Commerce, presented at the last year's Mobile World Congress, was continued this year as well, throughout the project Google Glass Shopping, which shows an advanced user purchase scenario, using Ericsson Wallet platform and wireless glasses for enhanced reality that enables the buyers the access to digital information within their field of view. This platform enables users a simple performing of bank transactions by using their mobile devices. In the store, the buyers have the possibility to receive product information, which is adjusted and formed in accordance with their previous purchases. The glasses serve to scan the product in the store, and adding to a basket, and starting the procedure of an automatic payment. Within this smart purchase user scenario, the shop assistants also use Google Glasses for buyers' face recognition, access to their user profiles and data on previous purchases, which greatly contributes to the improvement of service and customer approach. After excellent feedback from technology conferences GITEX in Dubai and Zain Technology Conference in Istanbul, and Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the solution second development phase was presented in Barcelona, additionally extended by new functionalities.

Ericsson placed a special highlight to various activities in the area of corporate social responsibility, and Ericsson Nikola Tesla experts actively participated in this area as well, by realization of TV clients in a pilot project in Ruanda territory. This initiative is focused towards the empowering of the local community, by ensuring drinking water, solar energy and mobile communication, as well as the basic goods and services. The modular kiosks, powered by solar energy, will be connect to the Internet and serve to local communities as an interface to access various digital services in the area of education, health, m-commerce, information and entertainment. Ericsson will implement the solution Managed Rural Coverage that serves to enable Internet services in rural areas. Ericsson service, TV Anywhere, will enable an access to the services mentioned, and the M-Commerce solution, will enable the residents to perform transactions via mobile wallet.
