Congratulation on the Occasion of Ericsson Nikola Tesla d.d. Jubilee - 20 Years - Ericsson Nikola Tesla d.d.

  Categories: Investors

Exactly 20 years ago, on Saturday, May 13, 1995, at location Krapinska 45 in Zagreb, after the time and place of the Assembly were changed, due to safety reasons, a historic Constituent Assembly of Ericsson Nikola Tesla Joint Stock Company was held. On this day, although under air raid alert, the national and corporation flags and Ericsson logo were raised on our building's roof top. Our joint stock company officially began with its operation.

The company bears the name of two great men - Lars Magnus Ericsson, the founder and the first owner of Ericsson, and Nikola Tesla, world renowned Croatian scientist and inventor. Joining the global family, Ericsson Nikola Tesla accepted a new business philosophy and thus aligned its organization and business with the corporation strategy and standards. A transformation begins, during which the company focuses on new key activities and, over time, from hardware manufacturer, becomes a provider of modern communications solutions and the largest Croatian knowledge exporter.

MSc Gordana Kovačević, president of Ericsson Nikola TeslaGordana Kovačević, MSc, commented on this important jubilee: “After we have marked the Company's 65th Anniversary at the end of last year, today we are celebrating twenty years of Ericsson Nikola Tesla as a joint stock company. The previous license cooperation between Ericsson and “Nikola Tesla“ grew also into an ownership relation, during transformation and privatization process, when Ericsson became the largest single owner, with a share of 49.07 percent. It was a good strategic choice for both sides. For Croatia, a country that was recently recognized, it was one of the biggest foreign investments in the privatization process thus far. The public interest in the new company, which was at the turning point, was great. There was a dilemma to be solved – to continue on the same path, or significantly change regardless of all the consequences of such restructuring. From today’s perceptive, it seems that there should not have been any doubt- however, the participants of the restructuring process are the best witnesses of the difficulty of this assignment, and the lack of understanding in the surroundings for what needed to happen, in order to survive.  Today, we can say that this transformation process and the new Company's life had far-reaching effects not only for our business performance, but also on the society as a whole. We succeeded, due to Ericsson’s technological leadership, as well as the courage and the vision of leaders, who knew how to respond in the right way to all the technological, market and social challenges. At the same time, our success is the result of perseverance, knowledge and competencies of all of the generations of our employees. We used the opportunity for a new beginning, and together positioned the company locally, regionally and globally. It was not easy, however, this is precisely why we need to appreciate what we have accomplished together and be happy about our current and future achievements, and at the same time, be ready for further and even faster changes on the path of creating our future.

To all the Company’s employees, as well as to all the colleagues who contributed over the years, I would like to congratulate on the occasion of this important jubilee. “
