MIPRO 2015 – The Communication is (of) the Key (importance)

  Categories: Events

MIPRO, the biggest scientific and expert convention on information and communication technology, electronics and microelectronics in this part of Europe, traditionally gathers various representatives of science, education, state administration and of the most significant Croatian and global ICT companies. In front of more than 1200 experts from 42 countries, in Opatija, May 25 – 29, over 370 scientific and expert papers will be presented during ten simultaneous conferences, accompanied by seven round tables and four workshops.

The conference was officially opened by Vedran Mornar, minister of science, education and sport. Interesting and dynamic plenary discussion on the Smart Specialization Strategy has confirmed the crucial importance of the systematic and operative connection between education, science and economy. This year’s 38th international conference has once again shown, through the debate of opinions and thesis that in the ICT segment, Croatia does not fall behind in comparison to the developed parts of the world, but lacks a national strategy with which each citizen will be acquainted with, and will not be accessible only to a close circle of experts. MIPRO has always been, and even more today, oriented to every part of the society and all activities, just like the potential for the application of ICT.

We would like to highlight, among a variety of interesting topics, the draft of the Broadband Development Strategy in the Republic of Croatia for the period 2016 – 2020 that aims to additionally encourage the formation of conditions for acceleration of the broadband access development in the Republic of Croatia, and consequently, the competitiveness of our economy.

Since Ericsson Nikola Tesla has been from the very beginning strongly and comprehensively supporting the MIPRO convention, our experts have this year also contributed to the quality of the content with several different expert papers. Also, we would like to highlight the appearance of Milan Živković, Strategy and Business Development Director, in the discussion on the application of modern mobile networks (LTE) in the public safety service and participation of Ivan Lupić, Director of ICT for Industry & Society, in the round table on ecological aspects in innovations.

More details can be found at www.mipro.hr  and in the new issue of the Komunikacije magazine.
