New solution for 112 emergency calls in Montenegro

Ericsson Nikola Tesla delivered to Ministry of the Interior of Montenegro a new solution for 112 emergency calls, based on the CoordCom application for assistance in emergency situations. With this, in the future functioning of the protection and rescue system in Montenegro will be improved and with higher quality. At the same time, citizens will by calling the 112 number be provided with the assistance by the all services included in the protection and rescue system in the shortest period possible.

At the ceremony held at the beginning of October in the central Operational-Communication Center in Podgorica, on the occasion of its opening, Montenegrin Minister of the Interior Raško Konjević, expresses gratitude to Ericsson Nikola Tesla for comprehensive cooperation and stressed: With this organization, the whole territory of a country is covered, and availability of this number will be equal to all citizens. Montenegro as a tourist destination with the implementation of the unique European number will enable more simple emergency calls for tourists. The new unique European number 112 for emergency calls software and OCC premises will ensure that the functioning of protection and rescue system is improved and with higher quality, said Minister Konjević and pointed out that this is state-of-the-art solution. In accordance with the organization of the center, calls will be forwarded to three locations – for northern parts of Montenegro to Bijelo Polje, for central parts to Podgorica, and for southern parts to Bar.

President of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Gordana Kovačević, emphasized that the safety of all citizens is a goal set high by every country and that we are today more than ever aware of the connectivity and networking advantages: Thanks to an excellent cooperation, we started with the development and realization of this solution, together, as partners, and we approached the task with enthusiasm and motivation, being aware of the significance of the project. Montenegro today receives cutting-edge system for handling of emergency situations, as those in Sweden, Croatia, Slovakia, Spain and many other countries. This is a system open for implementation of new services, said Gordana Kovačević and congratulated to Montenegro for implementation of the 112 call and expresses her gratitude to experts of the Ministry of the Interior and Ericsson Nikola Tesla for their team hard work.
