Let’s seize 5G opportunities
New opportunities are opening up with the announcement of HAKOM’s decision on the allocation of the RF spectrum for 5G mobile networks in Croatia. We have been reporting about them ever since the first presentation of Ericsson’s globally leading 5G technology in our company in March 2018. Since then, we have been diligently working together with our partners telecom operators, Hrvatski Telekom and A1 Hrvatska, on its implementation in our country. The allocation of spectrum for 5G marks a new phase in its implementation in which we need to take advantages and benefits that this technology has to offer.
Gordana Kovačević, president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla commented: „The allocation of spectrum for 5G to operators in Croatia marks a new chapter in the implementation of the state-of-the-art 5G technology that has a potential to transform our economy. I am particularly glad that in cooperation with our partners telecom operators we will contribute to a more equitable and sustainable economic development of our country by enabling access to technology in rural areas. ICT industry, even though affected by the pandemic, has shown resilience and revealed its great potential for facilitating the adjustment of industry and society to new demands of the global digital economy. In the forthcoming period, in cooperation with all stakeholders in the ecosystem in which operators, industry, public administration and the education sector are key, we need to use the 5G innovation potential in the best possible way to create new opportunities and revenues in diverse sectors. Only by doing that can we secure sustainability and global competitiveness of our economy in the future and create new employment.
Along with the recognized Ericsson’s technology leadership in 5G and the quality, knowledge and experience of Ericsson Nikola Tesla’s experts from our R&D center and our centers for solutions and services in 5G, that have been additionally verified in many 5G projects around the world, I believe that our company will remain a significant player in the 5G ecosystem.”
