We award the best at FER

The celebration of Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) Day was held on Friday, November 23. The ceremony was opened with an introductory speech by the dean, associate professor Gordan Gledec, PhD. The guests were also welcomed by the Rector of the University of Zagreb Professor Damir Boras, PhD, and State Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Education Tomo Antičić, PhD, acting as a representative of the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Croatia. The most successful students and employees were awarded recognitions and awards of the Faculty. After the ceremony, guests had the opportunity to see an exhibition of posters presenting FER projects. Ericsson Nikola Tesla is a partner of the Faculty through various forms of collaboration and of the top students as well.

We are a long-term partner in the presentation of the “Josip Lončar” annual award, named the Bronze plaque, to the best graduate student at the Information and Communication Technology program, profile Telecommunication and Informatics. This year, the plaque was awarded to Karla Kurjan by Milan Živković, Director Strategy&Business Development at Ericsson Nikola Tesla.

The plaque was awarded to Karla Kurjan by Milan ŽivkovićMoreover, the company presents awards to the best projects based on a competition held by Ericsson Nikola Tesla and FER. The winners of the first prize are Dorian Ljubenko, Karlo Sever, Katarina Ćavar and Luka Tomić for their project “Implementation of multiple signal classification algorithm on MIMO 4x4 test platform”. The second award was given to Marija Knežević, Luka Lavrnja, Duje Mušura and David Pavlović for the project “Computationally efficient realization of digital radio receiver”, and the third prize went to Ivan Kralj for the project “Automated M2M communication between Master Al and work robots”. Milan Živković congratulated the students and presented them with the recognitions.
