Last week in Opatija, the 39th MIPRO was held, which is the biggest non-commercial convention on information and communication technology in this part of Europe. It gathered some 1 200 experts, and around 400 papers published in the Conference proceedings in electronic form were sent from around thirty countries. The specificity of this convention has always been, and still is, a clear connection of technological and scientific novelties with different ways of their use in practice. This year’s MIPRO was organized in the form of ten consultation sessions dedicated to particular areas of high technology, several round tables, workshops, seminars, fora, and thematic days dedicated to currently important topics.
Ericsson Nikola Tesla is traditionally an active participant and sponsor of the conference dedicated to main ICT trends in industry, science, education, and public administration.

Annual General Meeting held in Ericsson Nikola Tesla Joint Stock Company

The Annual General Meeting of Ericsson Nikola Tesla Joint Stock Company was held in the Company premises, Krapinska 45, Zagreb, on Tuesday, May 31,2016. The equity capital represented at the AGM was HRK 89,430,800, which corresponds to 67.32% of the total Company's equity, thus satisfying the legal conditions for the AGM to make valid decisions. In the presence of a notary public, the AGM proceedings were conducted by Snježana Bahtijari, the AGM chairperson appointed by the Supervisory Board.

In the city center in Zagreb, at Cvjetni trg, an event under the motto “Know your Blood Pressure” was held and attended by a great number of people interested in the occasion. The initiative was supported by Health Minister Dario Nakić as well.

The Award of the Croatian Employers' Association (CEA) was established within the EU project “Corporate Social Responsibility for All” (CSR for ALL) as an important CEA activity, which encourages the application of CSR principles in the business performance of member companies. The companies that in a way represent an example to others have registered approximately 100 high-quality projects. For CEA, all the projects are winners, because they contribute to the development of society and economy, and in the future, they expect an even greater number of registered projects, based on high-quality practice.

Even though Croatian software industry is becoming more and more successful, and is recognized as a lever for success in the Croatian Industrial Strategy, its development is not accompanied by an adequate offer of qualified people that graduated from technical faculties. It is estimated that Croatia lacks approximately 1 000 experts on a yearly basis. Therefore, employers actively present themselves to students, mainly at job fairs at the faculties, searching for great talents.
